Overview from this year:

The College Outreach Ministry conducted a graduation ceremony at New Vision Emmanuel Baptist Church to celebrate those high school and college students who were graduating from their respective schools.  In addition, the Ministry created and mailed out care packages to those college students who were attending school out of town.  The care packages were sent the start of the fall semester and the spring semester and included school supplies, snacks, toiletries and inspirational books.  We currently have students who are obtaining undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and a medical degree!

In addition, we hold general college information sessions regularly for those students of all ages, to help them better prepare and understand the college application process, what is involved in the college admissions and the financial aid process.  We also hold one on one sessions and provide individual attention to high school seniors with finalizing their college applications and financial aid.

For those who are local, we hosted a career and human resources panel where individuals were able to obtain career information from professionals and also obtain job interviewing tips, resume suggestions and ways to obtain and keep a job. This was a very informative event, where individuals were able to have an interactive conversation and obtain some useful information to help them in the future!
