Overview from this year:

The College Outreach Ministry conducted a graduation ceremony at New Vision Emmanuel Baptist Church to celebrate those high school and college students who were graduating from their respective schools.  In addition, the Ministry created and mailed out care packages to those college students who were attending school out of town.  The care packages were sent the start of the fall semester and the spring semester and included school supplies, snacks, toiletries and inspirational books.  We currently have students who are obtaining undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and a medical degree!

In addition, we hold general college information sessions regularly for those students of all ages, to help them better prepare and understand the college application process, what is involved in the college admissions and the financial aid process.  We also hold one on one sessions and provide individual attention to high school seniors with finalizing their college applications and financial aid.

For those who are local, we hosted a career and human resources panel where individuals were able to obtain career information from professionals and also obtain job interviewing tips, resume suggestions and ways to obtain and keep a job. This was a very informative event, where individuals were able to have an interactive conversation and obtain some useful information to help them in the future!

  1. Vikasa yoga retreat was designed and built by a yogi, with just one thing in mind – practice of yoga! And it is just perfect for that! It is set in a spectacular ocean cliff-side location of Koh Samui, Thailand. Koh Samui enjoys perfect weather almost year round and offers a culturally rich environment to further inspire you. Vikasa is the ideal place to practice yoga, find like-minded people, eat healthy food, and evolve in an amazing natural environment. Vikasa is Sanskrit for becoming visible, expanding and shining forth. Inspired by the notion of personal integration and evolution, our founder, Kosta Miachin developed the Vikasa Method to reflect his deeply held belief that yoga can be a tool of transformation: a means to helping individuals evolve physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. Kosta resides and teaches yoga in Koh Samui most of the year when he is not otherwise training or teaching in other countries. Born in Eastern Europe, with extensive time spent in Canada, Europe, America and Asia, Kosta is very much a global yogi with a global vision. Kosta’s passion for yoga blossomed in 2004 when he set out on his own journey of self-discovery.
